2018 Cups of Compassion

8th Annual Event

On Thursday, December 20, Cups of Compassion will host the 8th annual event on Penn Street in Downtown Reading.  Cups of Compassion, a project under the BIG Vision Foundation (a 501(c)3 organization), is “pop up” soup kitchen provides those in need with hot meals, warm clothes, goods, and services donated by local businesses, organizations, and individuals. 

Would you like to join us for this special day along with the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who make this event possible?  There are many ways to get involved:

  • Donate:  Items collected for the event include clothing, food and drinks, toiletries, and pet food.  Donations can be picked up prior to event or distributed by your volunteers during the event.
  • Provide Services:  Health screens, hair cuts, and other types of services are welcome on the event day.
  • Volunteer:  Volunteers are needed for set up and tear down of the event, as well as throughout the event.  Volunteers are also welcome to serve on the various committees that make this event possible.
  • Share:  We welcome everyone at this event.  Please share this event with anyone who may have a need.
  • Perform:  To add to the holiday spirit of the event, we welcome school groups, choirs, etc. to perform in half hour slots during the event.
